Sandra is a ten year old girl, who comes from a family of three children. Her father died in a road accident, leaving her mother alone to raise the children. Her husband’s brothers chased her and the children off of their land, leaving the family in a desperate situation. Sandra’s mother was forced to find accommodations for herself and the children in a nearby town. She is unemployed and relies on casual work for survival. Her mother strongly believes in educating her children, but she cannot afford the school fees. Sandra is a smart little girl, who loves school and dreams of an education. The local MGEF board member was alerted to Sandra’s dilemma. She was quickly accepted into MGEF’s Scholarship Program and is very happy to be back in school with no worries of being sent home due to lack of school fees.
