Ruth is an eleven-year-old girl who comes from a family of three children. Her father passed away three years ago from cancer. Her father’s illness caused tremendous financial hardship for the family, which the family never recovered from. Her mother is illiterate and struggles to support the three children. She has managed to send the children to school up until now. The local board member was told about Ruth’s situation and helped her mother fill out an application. Ruth is a very bright girl who does well in school. Ruth was awarded an MGEF scholarship and started classes in January 2026. She is very excited to be able to go to school without worrying about being sent home due to lack of school fees.
