Promise is a six year old girl who comes from a family of three children. She and her two older brothers live with their single mother, who lost her job as a secretary when the pandemic hit. Since her termination, she has struggled to support the family by selling second hand clothes. Her mother was diagnosed with depression a couple of years ago, and has been in and out of treatment centers making it even harder for her to keep her children in school. Her mother learned about MGEF and came to the office desperate for help. Promise is a very sweet little girl who loves school. She was accepted into the MGEF’s Scholarship Program in January of 2024. Now she attends school without the fear of being sent home due to lack of school fees.
