Lydiah is a 15 year old girl, who comes from a family of four children. Both of her parents are deceased. She and her three siblings live with her aunt. Her aunt is not employed and she struggles to put food on the table. Lydiah attended primary school with the help of a well wisher. Lydiah did very well in primary school and was accepted to a good secondary school. Her aunt is unable to afford her school fees, so Lydiah feared this was the end of her academic career. She located the local MGEF board member and filled out an application for the MGEF Scholarship Program. Lydiah was accepted and in January 2024 she started secondary school. She is so excited that her dream of an education is becoming a reality.
