Lilian comes from a family of seven children. Her father is deceased. Her fathers extended family has not helped Lilian’s mother support herself or the children. She does casual labor to put food on the table. She has held fundraisers to pay for the education of her school aged children. The community has helped, but they are no longer able to assist the family. An MGEF facilitator, at one of our Life Skills Workshops, was approached by a teacher in regards to Lilian. They recommended her for a scholarship because they felt she was very bright and was not going to be able to continue due to lack of school fees. The facilitator contacted the local MGEF board member who visited Lilian and helped her fill out an application. She was accepted in January of 2025. Lilian is very excited to be able to continue her education.
