Josephine is a 13 year old girl, who comes from a polygamist family with 12 children. She and one of her brothers are the only two children who have attended school. Her father is unemployed, and due to the drought, he has no livestock left to sell. Three of Josephine’s sisters have been married against their will. Josephine fears her father will marry her next if she does not join secondary school. A local MGEF board member was contacted about Josephine. Josephine filled out an application and was accepted to the MGEF Scholarship Program. She is very excited to be able to go to secondary school.
