Doris is a 12-year-old girl with three siblings. Her father is deceased, and her mother supports the family by selling coal. Her two older sisters dropped out of school and were married off at an early age. Her brother suffers from epilepsy and is disabled. Her mother has struggled to keep Doris in school, but it is too much for her. She is often sent home due to lack of school fees. Doris loves school and dreams of becoming a police woman. Her mother contacted the local MGEF board member, who came and helped her fill out an application. Doris was accepted into the MGEF Scholarship program in January 2025. She is so proud to be the only child in the family to be able to receive an education.
