Deborah is a 14 year old girl, who comes from a family of seven children. In 2021, Deborah’s father was killed in a car accident, leaving her mother with the job of supporting the family. Her mother is illiterate and unemployed. They survive with the help of well wishers. Deborah did very well on her Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exam and was accepted to a good secondary school. Unfortunately, her mother cannot afford to send her to secondary school. Her mother contacted the local MGEF board member and asked to fill out an application. Deborah was accepted and is very excited to be able to go to secondary school.
