Abigael is a twelve year old girl who comes from a family of seven children. Her mother is illiterate and her father didn’t graduate from primary school. Her mother sells milk and her father takes on casual work when he can find it. The family is struggling to put food on the table at this point. Her sister graduated from secondary school and started college, but was forced to go home due to lack of school fees. All of children have either high school fee balances or have had to drop out. There is not enough money to send Abigael to school this year. The local MGEF board member heard of the families struggle and came by to meet Abigael. They found a very smart little girl who loves to learn. They helped her fill out the application and she was accepted into the MGEF scholarship program in January 2025. Abigael is very happy to be able to go to school without the fear of being sent home due to lack of school fees.
