Aaliyah is a ten-year-old girl who has two siblings. Her mother is a single mother and has been the sole supporter of the three children. In 2024, she developed a mental issue last year and lost her small business and the ability to take care of her children. She sent the children to her mothers home. Her mother is elderly and a diabetic. She is very poor and does not have the financial means to send Aaliyah to school. Aaliyah’s mother is currently in a mental hospital receiving treatment. The grandmother and Aaliyah’s brother are very supportive of an education and found a local MGEF board member. The board member helped her fill out the application and Aaliyah was accepted into the scholarship program in January 2025. Aaliya is very happy to be able to return to school.
