Yiamoi is a seven-year-old girl who comes from a family of three children. Her mother and father separated and the children stayed with the father. The father had a long court battle to keep the children, which resulted in him selling off all the livestock. His only source of income is a once-a-week brokerage of others’ livestock. He is unable to continue to pay for Yiamoi to go to school. Yiamoi loves school and dreams of an education. Her father approached a local MGEF board member who helped him fill out the application. Yiamoi was accepted into the MGEF Scholarship program in January 2026. She can now concentrate on her studies and not worry about being sent home due to lack of school fees.
