Abigael is a 13-year-old girl who comes from a family of five children. Her father is an alcoholic and her mother is ill making it difficult for her to find a job. The family has no livestock and depends on the grandmother, who does bead work for a living. The children often have no food. Abigael was forced to seek assistance from a local rescue center due to lack of food and for help with shelter and school fees. The local MGEF board member was contacted and helped Abigael fill out an application. She was accepted in the MGEF scholarship program and started school in January 2026. Abigael does well in school and would like to be a journalist.
