Sereya is a 15-year-old girl who comes from a polygamist family with 16 children. Her father has two wives. Sereya’s mother is the second wife and has seven children. The first wife has nine children. All the parents are illiterate and work casual jobs when they are available. They struggle to put their school-aged children to school. Sereya is very humble and loves school. She is constantly being sent home due to lack of school fees. The local MGEF board member was contacted and visited Sereya and helped her fill out an application. Sereya was accepted to the MGEF Scholarship program in January 2025. She is very happy to be able to go to school and concentrate on her studies instead of worrying about being sent home due to lack of school fees.
