Blessing is a fourteen-year-old girl who comes from a family of ten children. Four of the children are her siblings and five are her cousins. After her uncle’s death, her father took on the responsibility of his brother’s family. He also supports his brother’s wife, who has HIV and costly medical bills. Neither he nor his wife work, they survive by selling a cow or goat. Their livestock is diminishing and neither Blessing nor her six-year-old brother were able to report to school due to lack of school fees. A local MGEF board member was contacted about Blessing’s situation. She helped Blessing fill out an application. Blessing was accepted into the MGEF Scholarship program in January 025. She is very happy to be able to return to school this year.
