Become an MGEF Sponsor and send a girl like Tarqueen to school! Or support one of our many students and community workshops to help change lives forever.
Tarqueen is a five-year-old girl who was the last born in a family of seven children. Her mother is divorced and has been forced to take care of the seven children on her own. She only has a primary school education, so she has no employment qualifications. She makes a meager living selling vegetables. She tries to send her children to school, but it is a struggle. Tarqueen is a smart little girl who loves to learn. The local board member was contacted and helped Tarqueen’s mother fill out the application. Tarqueen was accepted into the MGEF Scholarship program and started PP2 (higher kindergarten) in January 2026
Le Chat Noir a delightful experience of delicate French cuisine, daily specials, a selection of wines, crêpes & other bistro fare in a neighborhood setting with an upstairs lounge in Friendship Heights.SPECIAL THANKS to our SPONSORS
Locals Farm Market is a place to savor the culture of Montgomery County’s Agricultural Reserve; a cafe and farm-to-table restaurant celebrating local food and community in the Steven’s House, an 1840s home sandwiched between the John Poole House and the Old Town Hall, in the heart of Historic Poolesville.
