Sophia is a 16 year old girl, who comes from a family of four children. Her father has TB and has not been able to work for many years. Her mother sells tea at the local market every Tuesday, which puts food on the table. Her small earning are not enough to send the children to school. Neighbors and relatives have helped to put the children through primary school, but they are not able to give enough money for secondary school. Sophia is a hard worker and dreams of an education. The local MGEF Board member met with Sophia, and helped her fill out an application. Sophia was accepted into MGEF’s Scholarship Program for Term 1 of 2022. She no longer worries about school fees and can now concentrate on her studies.
