Everlyne is a 15 year old girl who comes from a polygamist family of two wives and 10 children. Her father is a watchmen and her mother is unemployed. The money that her father brings home is used for food for the family. Only one of her sisters was able to attend secondary school, but in Form 3 she had to leave due to lack of school fees and pregnancy. None of her other siblings have gone beyond primary school. After graduating from primary school in 2021, Everlyne was determined to go on to secondary school. After watching all of her friends get pregnant, she left her home in search of help with her education. It was suggested to her to meet with Abigael, MGEF-Kajiado Program Director, to inquire if she could help or at least give her a place to stay while she search for a way to go to school. Abigael was so impressed with her determination that she had Everlyne fill out an application. Everlyne was accepted and began Term 1 in July of 2021. Everlyne no longer has to worry about being sent home due to lack of school fees.
